It's Not Just A Pretty Piece of Jewelry-Amber and Giveaway!

I know lots of moms have heard about or used Amber necklaces as a natural relieving alternative for teething babies, and most of them swear by them and keep recommending amber to their friends when the topic teething is brought up.
So what is the magic in Baltic amber and how does it work?
Amber is the only fossil resin containing 3 to 8% of succinic acid which acts as a major therapeutic substance to the human body. In fact, modern scientists create cell regenerating face creams with succinic acid. Some other properties of real natural Baltic amber are that it will sink in fresh water but float to the surface in salt water and when you burn real amber, you can smell the aromatic fragrance of resin which is its true nature.  Amber works by the skin warming the amber which releases healing oils and the oils are then absorbed into the blood stream. The active ingredient is succinic-acid which was analysed by the pioneer of modern bacteriology, the Nobel-prize winner Robert Koch (1886), who confirmed its positive influence and recent scientific research has also proved that succinic acid has a very positive influence on the human organism. Succinic acid is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight toxic free radicals and disruptions of the cardiac rhythm, succinic acid has been shown to stimulate neural system recovery and bolster the immune system, and helps compensate for energy drain in the body and brain, boosting awareness, concentration and reflexes, and reducing stress. One of the most common methods of using healing gemstones is by placing them on the affected parts of the body. Another very common method is wearing the gemstone. If long term healing or benefit is desired from a particular gemstone, then most people prefer to wear the gemstone as necklace or bracelet.
Where did all these incredible characteristics of natural Baltic amber come from?
Well, from nature millions of years ago. Baltic Amber is actually fossilized resin which was produced by pine trees also known as conifer trees that existed in Northern Europe – an area that extended from the southern regions of what is now Scandinavia and the nearby regions of the bed at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. At some point, historians have determined that as the climate in those regions became warmer, these trees began to “weep” large amounts of resin (sap). Scientists have concluded that natural Baltic Amber achieved stability over time as the result of oxidation. If you hold a piece of Baltic Amber in your hand, you will find it is warm to the touch and when in contact with the body, transmits a very relaxing fragrance.

I used a baltic amber necklace for my teething son. Now that he’s got a full set of chompers, I plan to use it on my dog for flea control!

I have “the feet of an 80 year old” according to my doctor, whilst only in my 20’s. I have it through my feet, knees, hips and back so far. :( I would love to see how this helps my arthritis.
